Mini Review Heist Society

Heist Society (Heist Society #1)
by Ally Carter

Published February 2010
287 pages

Description from Goodreads:

When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her to the Louvre...to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria...to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own—scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving "the life" for a normal life proves harder than she'd expected.

Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring her back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has good reason: a powerful mobster's art collection has been stolen, and he wants it returned. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat’s father isn’t just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat’s dad needs her help.
For Kat there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it’s a spectacularly impossible job? She’s got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family’s (very crooked) history—and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way.

Review:

I just finished Heist Society and to be honest I wasn't really expecting much from this book. But after a few chapters I found myself captivated by the story. Its a light fun read but it does have a little deepness to it which i loved. While there is plentyof action and mystery there is also romance invloved for those of us who need that in practically every story we read. I really liked Hale he is definately swoon worthy :sigh: It was nice to see his relationship with Kat grow. There is also another potential love interest Nick but I don't feel like we really get to know him so I am rooting for Hale all the way! I highly recommend this series and am glad I will not have too wait long for the new book in the series to be released, it comes out June 21st! I really like Katrina she is a strong character very sassy and independent but at times we get a look at her softer side making me like her even more. Although the story isnt paranormal it definately seemed like fantasy because what teenager flies all over Europe as an extreme theif? But I dont think the point of the story is to be believable,it's a light fun read.

So Bottom line:

This is the book to turn to when you need a break from the "heavy" plot books out there. I would recommend giving it a try.

♥ ♥ ♥ = really liked it
